Hands down, Moonrise Kingdom is one of our favourite Wes Anderson films. You could imagine our excitement when we discovered this amazing version of the script that includes behind-the-scenes snapshots of the filming. Enjoy!

Enjoy this short film made by Danny Madden, Will Madden, and Jonathan Silva of Ornana Films. It even won a prize for Best Animation at this year’s SXSW festival!
We’re pretty much counting down the seconds until the new Wes Anderson film is in theatres! Moonrise Kingdom stars Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman and Frances McDormand.
If feels like every winter we’re blessed with a new dance movie to enjoy. Last year we loved Black Swan, and this year we just can’t wait until Pina is out in theatres. A film dedicated to Pina Bausch directed by Wim Wenders.

This week our fantastically talented guest blogger, Brett Ramsay, shares an eerie film recommendation with us. Someone pass the Junior Mints and psychotherapist please.
Who doesn’t love eccentric Southern senior citizens? Vernon, Florida, Errol Morris’ 1981 documentary was originally about townsfolk who amputated their limbs for insurance money [and we wonder what happened to our economy], but a few death threats were tossed here and there and the film has since been re-cut into this meandering masterpiece. You should also check out his film school documentary about a pet cemetery [Gates of Heaven, 1978] which prompted Werner Herzog to eat his shoe.
“I like the irrelevant, the tangential, the sidebar excursion to nowhere that suddenly becomes revelatory.”
